Vendor Managed Inventory
The goal of Vendor Managed Inventory is to provide a mutually beneficial relationship where both sides can accurately control the availability and flow of goods.
With our VMI customers, JBS Group assumes the role of inventory planning and execution. Through extensive information sharing, JBS Group can maintain a high degree of visibility of goods at the customer’s location. Instead of the customer reordering when their stock is exhausted, JBS Group is responsible for replenishing, so we stock the customer at appropriate levels.
JBS Group currently runs VMI contracts for a number of our larger customers. This helps them to eliminate the uncertainty which arises when the supplier is blind to the customer’s inventory status.
